How we handle account, billing, analytics and live translation data, in plain language.

Who we are

This policy applies to SermonLingo, operated by SermonLingo. Questions can be sent to [email protected].

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run live services and bill for them:

  • Account details from Google sign-in, or an anonymous identifier if you have not signed in.
  • Service settings such as title, schedule, source language, listener languages, glossary terms and visibility.
  • Subscription status, plan, and Paddle customer or subscription identifiers.
  • Usage timestamps and metering totals for billing, abuse prevention and account history.
  • Product analytics events through PostHog, configured to avoid worship or event content.
  • Optional diagnostic audio captures, only when debugging is switched on for a service.

Audio, captions and translated voice

When an operator starts a live room, audio from the chosen input is streamed to our realtime gateway and processed by OpenAI's realtime speech and translation APIs to produce captions, translations and, when enabled, a translated voice. Translated voices are AI-generated. Captions are delivered to listeners as they are produced and are used to calculate usage.

Listeners

Guests who open a listener link do not need an account. Their device receives captions and audio for the language they choose, and we count connected listeners per language so operators can see how many people are following along.

Third-party services

SermonLingo relies on Firebase (Google) for sign-in and service data, Paddle for checkout and subscriptions, PostHog for product analytics, Resend for email, OpenAI for speech recognition, translation and AI voice, and optionally Cloudflare R2 for diagnostic captures. Each provider processes data under its own terms and privacy policy.

Your choices

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data by writing to [email protected]. Subscription and invoice records may be kept as required for tax, fraud prevention and legal compliance.
